WIRRAL train lines are disrupted this afternoon (Monday, September 30) due to “heavy flooding” on railway lines.
It comes after the borough was issued with a yellow weather warning for heavy train from the Met Office.
The weather warning, which has been in place since 12.30am, is in force until 7pm this evening.
Train services on the Ellesmere Port line will start and terminate at Rock Ferry due to the flooding.
Merseyrail confirmed that rail replacement buses have been requested to run between Ellesmere Port and Rock Ferry in both directions but are not yet in operation.
Rail replacement buses have also been requested to run between Chester and Rock Ferry in both directions due to flooding. Services on the Chester line will start and terminate at Rock Ferry.
