THE Met Office has issued Wirral with a yellow weather warning.
Experts have warned that heavy rain is expected to cause disruption and flodding across the borough today (Monday, September 30).
The weather warning, which has been in place since 12.30am, is in force until 7pm this evening.
The Met Office has told residents that homes and businesses flooding is possible as well as flooding on roads.
Public transport including bus and train services are also likely to be affected with journey times taking longer.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “A spell of persistent and at times heavy rain is expected to affect northeast Wales and northwest England during Monday before easing on Monday night.
“20-40 mm of rain is expected to fall quite widely with a few places seeing up to 60 mm during the course of the day.”
