A WOMAN has been described as being in a “critical condition” after she fell of an electric scooter in Liverpool city centre.

The 43-year-old woman suffered serious head injuries after she fell while she was riding along Princes Parade at around 6.30pm last night (Saturday, September 21).

She was taken to hospital where her condition is described as critical.

Merseyside Police are now investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “At this stage no other party is believed to have been involved and the Roads Policing Unit are carrying out an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
 
“We are appealing for any witnesses to the incident, or any motorists who may have dashcam footage to contact us.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident, or captured it on CCTV or dashcam, is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on (0151) 777 5747, or email SCIU@merseyside.police.uk quoting reference 814 of  21 September.”
