RESIDENTS are being asked for their final comments on the Wirral Core Active Travel Network.
Public consultation is currently underway for The Core Active Travel Network (CATN), a network of routes to help people travel across the borough whether by foot or on wheels.
The authority wants to provide routes where it is felt they are 'most needed' such as by connecting residential areas to shops, workplaces, schools, leisure activities and stations.
Wirral Council is currently consulting on a long-term plan to establish a joined-up network of roads across the borough that are designed for people to travel safely to where they need to go - whether they choose to go by car, bike, scooter, public transport or on-foot.
The consultation, which is running until September 23, gives residents the chance to comment on a specific route that is covered under the Core Active Travel Network plan or leave feedback on the plan as a whole.
It also asks what people think of the timescales specified for introducing each part of the network which range from short-term (within the next three years) to long-term (15+ years down the line).
Feedback from the consultation will be used to develop the plans further, identifying which ones will work best and which might need further thinking.
You can take part in the consultation by visiting the council’s Have Your Say site – haveyoursay.wirral.gov.uk
