Greasby Farmers' Market back next month

Greasby Farmers Market will be open on Saturday, October 5. Held once a month at the village's community centre, it features around 10 foodie traders and a small selection of craft, community and local services representation such as Marie-Curie, estate planning, Light Up Greasby - a team of volunteers working throughout the year to raise funds for Christmas lights in the village - and a group of campaigners fighting to save Wirral's Greenbelt group.

The market was established by Wai San Lett and Joanna McCawley in February 2023.

Explaining the reasons behind its foundation, Wai told the Globe: "We recognised a gap in the village for regular fresh produce such as fruit and vegetables, baked goods and international cuisine having visited farmers markets in other places such as Heswall, West Kirby and New Ferry.

The team behind the market also organises a monthly craft fair event that runs alongside the Heswall Hall Farmers Market.

"Other events that we have been asked to help to organise have been charity events such Light Up Greasby, Flint Summer Festival and Flint Switch On.

"Our biggest event to date has been Cosmic Cape Music Festival, which took place in July. 

"It attracted more than 4,000 visitors and featured music from headline act The Lightning Seeds."
