AT Aroma, they certainly know how to run an award-winning coffee shop.
When visiting the popular Irby venue, customers should sit back, chat and relax and let the staff at Aroma do the rest – that’s the secret to their success.
And it’s this ethos of putting the customer first – as well as serving freshly made food and top quality drinks – that has won Aroma Wirral’s Best Café or Coffee Shop title for the third year in a row!

Ten top cafés and coffee shops made Wirral’s shortlist in the latest Best of 2024 category and Aroma came out on top.
Husband and wife team Victoria and Andrew Pyle opened the coffee shop on Thingwall Road in Irby 14 years ago.
Aroma is a family-run business with the couple’s children Hannah and James helping out between their studies.
It has a unique vibe that leaves customers wanting to make a quick return to the venue after each visit and is open seven days a week serving breakfast and lunch as well as cakes and afternoon tea along with a wide selection of drinks.
They hold private events for customers wanting to celebrate a special occasion offering buffets, afternoon teas and even three course meals.
Hannah said: “We firmly believe that when visiting Aroma we should all do our best serving the customers, allowing them to sit back, chat and relax and let us do the rest.
“Many of our customers have been with us from the beginning, from day one, and have seen our children grow from a young age.
“They’ve always taken an interest into what they are doing, which is lovely.
“Our wider staff family past and present have played a huge part in our success and we couldn’t operate without them.
“They work so hard and always with a smile - always going that extra mile - they really are the best!”
She added: “After 14 years in business we owe so much to our children for often having to give up their own plans to support Aroma, especially during the really hard times.
“Together we all make it the special place it is - even if some days it’s a miracle that we all go home still speaking to each other!”
What do customers think of Aroma? Why did they want the venue to win our latest Best of 2024 award and make it a hat-trick of titles?
One happy customer said: “They cook the best breakfast and lunches and serve the best coffee on the Wirral!”
Another said: “Excellent service and great food.”
After winning Wirral’s Best Café or Coffee Shop for the past two years, everyone at Aroma was thrilled to be shortlisted again alongside some other fantastic small independent businesses.
Victoria said: “Everyone works so hard to open their doors and I hope people continue to support local businesses.
“To be announced as the overall winner for third time was unbelievable.
“We are so grateful for the support of our customers.
“Reading some of the comments in the nominations and voting posts was truly overwhelming.
“We felt that our team had been recognised for all their hard work.”
She continued: “Our team has played a massive part in the success of Aroma, past and present - we couldn’t do it without them.
“They work so hard every day with the brightest of smiles and they certainly go that extra mile, sometimes during the biggest of challenges.
“We are now into our 14th year and yes we certainly feel it!
“However, our love for Aroma, our customers and the community of Irby is still firmly in our hearts.
“Most people understand that Aroma is about family and our family have played a huge part.
“Most weekends and holidays both Hannah and James can be found working while trying to study.
“We owe a huge amount to them - without their support and understanding along with dropping everything to help, we would not be able to keep going.”
