PUBLIC consultation on designs for the new Birkenhead Market continues with a week of in-person sessions taking place from today (Monday, September 16).
Designs and layout for the market have been developed over recent months.
They indicate how the market based on Princes Pavement and next to the town centre bus station could look, including potential layout for traders’ stalls.
The public are currently being asked to give their views on the proposed designs for the new Birkenhead Market.
While this can be done via an online survey using the council’s ‘Have Your Say’ website, in-person engagement sessions are being held at the Pyramids Shopping Centre in Birkenhead from today until Saturday (September 21) near its food court from 11.30am to 1.30pm.
The in-person events will include large format CGI images and floorplans outlining the design proposals.
Market traders are also being asked to have their say on the designs and invited to an individual meetings with the council’s Market Development Consultant.
Work to strip out the unit which will house the new market is due to start mid-September to prepare it for being fitted out.
Anyone unable to get to the in-person events can still see more details of the design proposals being put forward and comment on them via the council’s Have Your Say website .
