A teenage girl was threatened with a knife as she walked through a park in Wirral.

The 13-year-old was in Central Park, Liscard, at around 7.50pm on Wednesday (September 4) when she was approached by two males on an electric bike.

They spoke to the girl before becoming aggressive and producing knives. They then road off down Parkside Road heading towards Seacombe.

The girl was not injured but left shaken by her ordeal.

The two males are described by police as white. One was wearing a black Montirex jacket, black trousers and black Nike 110 trainers and the second male was wearing a balaclava.

An investigation is underway and CCTV enquiries are being carried out in the local area.

Detectives are also investigating other similar incidents in the area including a robbery of a bike by two males on Canterbury Road and a robbery in Central Park in Liscard on Thursday (September 5) in which a male made threats and demanded cash. No-one was injured during either incident.

A 16-year-old male from Wallasey was later arrested on suspicion of robbery x 2 and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.

He is currently in custody and enquiries remain ongoing.

Detectives are investigating whether any of the incidents are linked and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward as a matter of urgency.

Detective Inspector Sarah Wilkinson said: "These incidents are obviously very upsetting and I want the public to be reassured that we are determined to find the people responsible and bring them to justice.

"I would appeal to anyone who has any information to come forward and tell us what they know so we can take positive action."
