A SUSPECT has been named by the courts after being charged with stealing cuddly toys.
Cheshire Police confirmed last month that it had arrested two people on suspicion of theft from a shop in Warrington town centre on a Saturday afternoon.
It was alleged that they stole cuddly toys from Waterstones in Golden Square Shopping Centre.
Wirral man Peter Allen has now been charged in connection with the incident.
The 64-year-old, of Lorne Court in Birkenhead has been charged with theft from a shop.
The particulars of the charge allege that, on August 10 in Warrington, he stole Jellycat plush toys to the value of between £150 and £200 belonging to Waterstones.
Allen is due to make a first appearance in relation to the charge before Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
