A FORMER Wirral printers premises will be transformed into a four-bedroom family home if plans are approved by councillors.
If given the go ahead, the former Wirral Press Printers on Rappart Road at its junction with Brighton Street in Wallasey will be converted.
Work will include creation of a courtyard at the rear of the property, new windows for private indoor space, removal of a door on the Brighton Street elevation, removal of signage and other alterations.
A design and access statement prepared by AGA-Associates and issued with planning documents to the council on behalf of the applicant, read: "The proposal demonstrates an opportunity to raise the value of the property and extend its’ longevity that forms part of the area’s long-term housing stock".
The design and access statement continued: "In summary, the development will make an important contribution to the rejuvenation of the residential area.
"The proposal has been designed to comply with the local policy, government and development plan guidance.
"The site represents an opening opportunity to provide a high quality and unique dwelling unit that will contribute towards the regeneration and continue to host a family."
It added: "The proposed development aims to achieve the best overall energy efficiency which involves maximising the controlled use of passive ventilation and solar energy.
"For these many reasons set out above, the application proposal do not conflict with the statutory development plan and the proposals are not only acceptable taking into account all other related material considerations but enhance every aspects of it.
"AGA Associates, therefore respectfully request that Wirral Local Council support this report."
