THE community at a Wirral holiday home park has been praised for its 'incredible compassion and support' after having their heads shaved in support of a fellow resident who is battling cancer.

A group of nine who have properties at Park Lane Holiday Homes in Meols 'braved the shave' as a 'powerful symbol of solidarity and unity' with Florence (Flossy) Kewley.

Together their efforts raised more than £2,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Over a drink in the site clubhouse a few friends suggested that in support of Flossy they should shave their heads like her. They took the idea one step further and decided to do it for the Macmillan Cancer Support charity 'Brave the Shave’.

The idea grew and nine owners finally went under the shaver at a ‘Brave the Shave’ afternoon in the clubhouse at Park Lane Holiday Homes in Meols which was supported by many their friends on the site.

Inspired by Floss's courage and resilience, the group of friends bravely took the plunge and shaved their heads.

Their selfless act of support has not only provided emotional comfort to Floss but has also attracted significant attention and raised a substantial amount of money.

The Brave the Shave campaign is a popular initiative that encourages people to shave their heads or hair in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The campaign aims to raise funds and awareness for those affected by cancer and to provide vital support services.

Expressed deep gratitude for her friends' unwavering support, Flossy said: "I am overwhelmed by their kindness and generosity.

"Their decision to shave their heads has meant so much to me. It's a testament to the strength of our friendship and the power of community.

"It did get overwhelming at times but with all the support out there I’m sure I will get through this"

One of the shavers said "It's inspiring to see communities come together in such meaningful ways.

"Well done to the owners of Park Lane Holiday Homes for their selfless act of kindness and for raising £2,000."
