THE third series of The Tower has returned to ITV after filming across the Liverpool City Region.
ITV announced the new series would be available to watch each night at 9pm on ITV1 from Monday, September 2 to Thursday, September 5.
The Tower 3: Gallowstree Lane is based on Kate London’s third novel, adapted by screenwriter Patrick Harbinson (Homeland, Fearless, 24) and will see the return of stars Gemma Whelan, Tahirah Sharif, Jimmy Akingbola and Emmett J Scanlan.
The project, which is produced by Windhover Films and Mammoth Screen, filmed across the Liverpool, Runcorn and Sefton last year, facilitated by Liverpool Film Office.
Mammoth Screen and Windhover Films produced the four-part drama in association with ITV Studios. Patrick Harbinson is executive producer alongside Mammoth Screen’s Damien Timmer and Charlotte Webber. Charles Bates produces and Rene van Pannevis (Looted) directs. Polly Hill oversaw production of the drama for ITV.
The Tower is distributed internationally by ITV Studios, with series one having sold into more than 90 territories. HBO Europe, Canal+, Britbox North America and Australia, Virgin Media Ireland and TVNZ are among the platforms and broadcasters to licence it. On ITV, the first series debuted with 5.4 million viewers.
