WIRRAL Poetry Festival has announced its programme for its 2024 Live Weekend event.
The event, which runs from October 3-6, will showcases UK poets including performances by Raymond Antrobus, Martin Figura and Helen Ivory.
There will also be two ensemble readings featuring Jonathan Aylett, Pat Edwards, Ness Owens, Sally Porter, Anna Saunders and Dave Ward.
The festival will take place at Port Sunlight Village and begins on National Poetry Day (October 4) with Ash Nugent’s performance from his debut novel Locks followed by a festival launch party at the Lever Club.
On Sunday, Tom George will encourage contemplation and writing during a walk through some special corners of the village including Mindful Writing in the Dell.
Poetry on the Green, next to the Lady Lever Art Gallery, runs all weekend and features poetry and music performances and an open mic for anyone with a poem to share.
On Saturday there will also be food stalls on the Green as part of the Sugar & Spice Festival.
