The Mosslands School
The Mosslands School was a hub of excitement and anticipation as students, teachers, and parents gathered for A-level results day. This pivotal moment marked the culmination of years of hard work, dedication and resilience for the students. As staff, we are so proud of each and every one of them. Watching them grow and find their place in the world is truly the most rewarding experience. Today was not just about grades, but about celebrating the journey, the growth, and the bright futures that await.
Their Head of Sixth Form, Cheryl Danher, said ‘As ever, I am extremely proud of all the students. Many have overcome a number of significant barriers and persevered to achieve some good results that have enabled them to progress to their chosen destination’
This year’s cohort, which included students who participated in the renowned Protective Services programme, achieved a wide range of successes. Mosslands is the only school on the Wirral where this course is offered, and we are proud to offer this diverse qualification. Our university bound students will be studying a range of courses from Prosthetics and Orthotics, Sport and Exercise Science, Journalism, Drama, Software Engineering, Real Estate and Forensics, Policing and Investigations. We also have several students who are progressing on to study courses at SAE – an institution that we are partnered closely with.
As students collected their results, the atmosphere was one of both celebration and reflection. For some, the day marked the beginning of new adventures in higher education, apprenticeships, or the workforce. For others, it was a moment to consider the lessons learned and the friendships formed during their time at Mosslands.
Our Head Boy, Harry Howson, said “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at The Mosslands Sixth Form. I have always felt supported with both my studies and life outside of school. I’m really happy with my results and I’m looking forward to starting my accountancy apprenticeship. I would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Mosslands for making my experience such a positive and enjoyable one - friendships have definitely been made for life!”
We have a mixed Sixth Form which offers a wide range of academic and vocational provision and is carefully matched to the needs and aspirations of our students. Progression figures into higher and further education and into successful employment are amongst the highest in the North West.
We are an innovative school and became the first school in the region to be recognised as a STE@M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) centre of excellence. This has seen us build excellent links with universities and compete successfully at a national level in STEM-related competitions.
