"It is an honour to be nominated for the shortlist of the Seaside Heritage Network’s Bucket and Spade list in 2024.

"We're looking forward to carrying on here, preserving the building and providing fun for decades to come."

Dr Kathryn Ferry, a founder member of the Seaside Heritage Network, said ‘It’s an eclectic list but that just goes to show the variety and geographical spread of Britain’s wonderful seaside heritage.

"We’re asking people to get behind their favourite nomination to help promote and protect the things that make our seaside distinctive.

"All too often, the seaside stories that make the press help reinforce negative perceptions about our historic resorts.

"We believe that giving deprived coastal communities a sense of pride in where they live starts with recognising the good things."
