TRANMERE Rovers Football Club has announced a new partnership with Big Heritage.
Big Heritage, a local organisation dedicated to preserving and celebrating history, is the new sponsor of the Johnny King Stand at Prenton Park.
The social enterprise works to make history accessible and engaging by connecting museums, schools and communities with the past and is behind some of the region's most popular historic attractions, including the Western Approaches HQ in Liverpool, the secret wartime bunker where the entire Battle of the Atlantic campaign was planned and won.
Dean Paton, Managing Director of Big Heritage, expressed his enthusiasm for the new partnership: "We are thrilled to kick off this unique partnership with Tranmere Rovers.
“It's not every day that you see a museum teaming up with a football club, but the reach that Tranmere have is massive.
“This sponsorship gives us a much bigger ‘bang for our buck’ than traditional advertising, and we’ve had visitors to Western Approaches mention our advert on the side of Prenton Park already, despite it being there for just a few days."
Supporters and visitors to Prenton Park can expect to see Western Approaches branding prominently displayed on the Johnny King Stand, as well as opportunities to learn more about the history of the region through future joint initiatives.
Paton added: “Just as important to us is that Tranmere Rovers share our commitment to the local community.
"We are already working together on a number of community projects that reflect our shared values and dedication to making a positive impact in Birkenhead."
