Viking settlers appeared at the National Waterways Museum in Ellesmere Port on Sunday, August 4.
Members of both the Wirral Viking Society And the Chester Viking Society put on a display and spectacular re-enactment.
The Vikings first came to Britain in AD 793 in ships from Denmark to conquer large parts of north east England, and the last invasion was 1066. Some members of the Viking Societies have Scandinavian ancestry in their DNA.
Included in the event was a battle between the Viking Warriors and some young children, who were equipped with small shields and and light clubs.
One by one the warriors fell. When the last warrior fell, the children gave a loud roar, prompted by the announcer on the loudspeaker.
