RESIDENTS from a Wirral care home enjoyed a 'delightful' six-hour journey on a narrow boat from Chirk to Trevor in Wales.

The trip, organised by WCNT - Community Narrowboating Wirral, was a chance for the group from Caldy Manor to 'immerse themselves in a day filled with scenic beauty and tranquillity'.

The residents, accompanied by dedicated staff, indulged in a picturesque voyage, enjoyed a leisurely lunch on board that had been prepared by head chef Sam. Whilst taking in the breath-taking landscapes tea, coffee and wine was served throughout the day.

The journey presented 'a unique opportunity for the residents to unwind, connect with nature, and create lasting memories'.

During the excursion, the group navigated through two tunnels and two aqueducts, adding an element of adventure to the experience.

The residents were described by care home staff as 'captivated by the tranquil waters, lush greenery, and the sense of peace that enveloped them throughout the journey'.

General manager, Hannah Roberts said "We are thrilled to provide our residents with such a memorable outing that not only offered them a change of scenery but also a chance to bond with fellow residents and staff."

One of the residents from Caldy Manor who took part in the trip said: "This was the most wonderful day that I have had in a long long time.

"Everything went so smoothly and the staff were absolutely fantastic.

"We all enjoyed every minute of it, thank you.”
