MEET our dog of the week, Walter, who needs your help to find a new home and is described by staff at his current residence as 'wonderful'.
The six-year-old Lurcher was adopted from Dogs Trust Merseyside as an eight-week old pup.
But after so happy six years in his home, he has found himself back at the charity's rehoming centre following a change in his owner's circumstances.
He would love to be the only dog in his new home but would happily live with children over the age of twelve and as he doesn’t like to be left home alone, he would love his new family to be around to keep him company.
Georgina Lowery, manager at Dogs Trust Merseyside's Huyton-based rehoming centre, said: "Walter is an amazing lad who still thinks of himself as a small pup with little legs.
"He is a fantastic boy who is always full of beans, he has really settled into kennels and loves to go out for his daily walks.
"Toys are Walter's favourite thing in the entire world, he absolutely loves chasing them, tugging them and relaxing in his kennel chewing them, so adopters will have to have a box ready waiting for him at home.
"Walter is incredible friendly and loves anyone he meets but his approach is often accompanied by a lot of enthusiasm and all four feet! His adopters will need to teach him to keep "four on the floor".
He is said to react to other dogs when out and about, so prefers to be walked at quieter times of the day or in quieter areas.
