A DISCOUNT supermarket in Ellesmere Port is set to celebrate its new ownership with a special weekend event.
Poundstretcher at the Port Arcades will give shoppers the chance to win free shopping every hour as part of a ‘MEGA Weekend Event’.
The retailer was purchased by the Fortress Investment Group in April 2024, Fortress also own Majestic Wine, Vagabond Wines and Punch Pubs Group in the UK.
Customers who shop in store on Friday, Saturday or Sunday (August 2,3 and 4) could win a £10 shopping voucher every hour. The lucky winners will be randomly selected using the instore radio system.
The Fortress Group have made several changes to Poundstretcher’s offering including over 800 permanent price cuts on products in the household and cleaning, DIY, health and beauty and storage ranges among others.
Over 500 big brand products from the likes of Walkers Crisps, Cadbury, Radox and Pedigree will also be available at lower prices, together with ‘Super Deals’ on big brands each month.
A new ‘customer events’ aisle has also been introduced with regular deals on household favourites.

To mark the start of this new journey, we’re giving away tens of thousands of pounds worth of vouchers across the country over one weekend.”
