A MAN in his 40s has been taken to hospital after reportedly falling from scaffolding on a Wirral street this afternoon (Monday, July 29).

Merseyside Police said emergency services were called to the scene on Laird Street in Birkenhead at around 12.20pm, following a concern for the safety of a man.

He has been taken to hospital for assessment.

Laird Street was partially closed to motorists following the incident, but has now reopened.
