A TEENAGE boy was threatened at knifepoint during a bike robbery in Wallasey.

At around 8.40pm on Tuesday (July 16) it was reported that a 15-year-old boy, who was riding an e-bike, was approached by two males on a black Sur-Ron e-bike on Sea Road, Wallasey.

One of the males got off the bike and threatened the boy with a knife before taking his e-bike and the two suspects left the area heading towards Grove Road.

An investigation is ongoing and anyone who has any information is asked to come forward.

Detective Inspector Anna Hackett said: “This would have been extremely distressing for the young teenager and an investigation is underway to find those responsible.

“We are determined to get knives off our streets and reducing knife crime in Merseyside is a priority for our force all year round.

"Carrying and threatening people with knives can have catastrophic consequences, and we will continue to use all our available powers to stop and search those we suspect are in possession of weapons which can cause fear and harm.

“If you were in the Sea Road area and saw anything at the time of this incident, please come forward. If you live nearby and have CCTV footage, please check to see if you captured anything and get in touch.”
