AN suspected unexploded Second World War bomb has been discovered in Birkenhead.
Merseyside Police confirmed that they received a report that an “suspected unexploded ordnance”, which is believed to be from the Second World War, is believed to have been found buried in a garden on Park Road South, Birkenhead.
Officers and military personnel are currently at the scene while a search for this suspected ordnance takes place.
An area of woodland with Birkenhead Park has been cordoned off as a precaution while police deal with the incident.
The force is asking people to avoid the area and find an alternative route.
