A WIRRAL curry house has been named as a finalist in the 2024 English Curry Awards.

The awards, now in their thirteenth year, acknowledge the leading annual celebration of the curry cuisine in England.

Britannia Spice, based on The Parade in Parkgate, is one of the finalists in the Best in the Region Award category.

A spokesperson for the restaurant said: “It's been a tough few months for Britannia Spice with the owner not available due to health issues, yet continues to pull the strings and customer support from local and beyond have been tremendous and still yet we find ourselves in this wonderful position to be nominated for this prestigious award.

“We are grateful to all our customers.”

The awards highlight the growth of the Asian curry sector and recognise the achievements of the top professionals and businesses that have delighted the public with their menus and the wide range of options available.

Those rewarded will include chefs, restaurants, managers, takeaways, teams and curry schools.

Britannia Spice will find out if they will be crowned the winner at a ceremony held on Monday, August 19 in Birmingham.
