A POLICE cordon is in place outside a Wirral pub after an incident.

Just before 5.50am this morning (Monday, July 15) it was reported that a man had been taken to hospital following a report of an assault at the Rose and Crown pub on Poulton Road in Wallasey.

The man remains in hospital with a head injury.

A police cordon and forensic van can be seen outside the pub as officers investigate the incident.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police told the Globe: “Crime scene investigators are currently at the pub on Poulton Road and a police scene is in place whilst we continue to investigate the incident.”
