WALLASEY Yacht Club will open its doors to the public this Saturday (July 20).
Taking place at the club's premises on Hope Street in New Brighton from 10.30am–2pm, it will be a chance to find out more about sailing its historic wooden Seabird Half Rater yachts on the Mersey and learn about club facilities, restoring boats, and social events.
The club's 'Seabirds' celebrate their 125th anniversary and Saturday's event is a chance to discover just what it takes to keep them sailing every year. Tea and coffee available. All welcome.

D-Day shows
HESWALL Musical Society is holding two concerts later this week to commemorate World War one and World War II, especially 80th anniversary of D-Day.
They are taking place on Friday, July 19 at 7.30pm at Heswall British Legion on Pensby Road in Heswall and Saturday, July 20 (2.30pm) at Heswall Methodist Church on Telegraph Road. Tickets from 0151 648 5316.
Book fair
WIRRAL Summer Book Fair is taking place at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton this Saturday (July 20) from 10am to 2.30pm.
It promises 'books For all tastes and ages, pockets and purses'. There will also be a chance to meet local author Cathy Roberts.

Bird club talk
VIBRANT Sri Lanka is the title of Ashley Grove' illustrated talk to Wirral Bird Club next week.
It will take place on Thursday, July 25 at St Bridget’s Church Centre, Church Road, West Kirby, starting at 7.30 pm.

Charity concert
A choral concert in aid of Age UK will take place at Trinity with Palm Grove Church on Alton Road in Birkenhead on Saturday July 27 at 3pm.
Members of the Ravenscroft Singers will perform a collection of madrigals and church music. Soloist Jan Rayner will perform Mozart's Clarinet Concerto 1st movement.
Tickets £10. The performance is described as Dementia Friendly.
Wildlife art
An exhibition of wildlife art will be on view at Gordale Garden Centre next week, featuring work by some of the best wildlife artists in the UK, according to its organiser.
They will be demonstrating their skills so why not come and watch them at work. Apart from the big four there will be over 500 original studies of species of birds, animals and insects, all for sale for you to enjoy. The exhibition is on from Friday, July 26 to Sunday, July 28. Free admission.
Theatre group
THE Greasby Players are looking for new members. A spokesperson for the group said: "We are a very friendly group and we laugh a lot! We love doing comedy but can perform other types of plays. A SUMMER festival promising 'top family entertainment, live shows, attractions and more' returns to New Brighton later this month.
Taking place on The Dips from Thursday, July 25 to Sunday, July 28 it follows an 'incredible' inaugural event last year.
Live acts include a Taylor Swift tribute, Mr Tumble Liverpool, The Disney Princess Show, Blippi, Little Star Tykes, a superhero show, a Spiderman stunt show, a character meet and greet, local music artists, dance and drama school shows and more.

Made in Dagenham
LISCARD-based ST Paul's Musical Theatre Company is in rehearsal for its next production, Made in Dagenham - The Musical.
Staged at the Gladstone Theatre in Port Sunlight from October 16 to 19, it is inspired by a true story and based on the hit movie. It is described as 'an uplifting British musical comedy about friendship, love and the importance of fighting for what is right and shows how ordinary people can do extraordinary things when they stand together.
