A WIRRAL supermarket has reopened following a three month refurbishment.

The Aldi store on Hoylake Road, Moreton reopened on Thursday morning (July 11) after undergoing an extension and reburishment.

To mark the opening of the store, colleague, Sue Essar, who has been with Aldi for 30 years, welcomed customers back by cutting a red-ribbon.

Moreton shoppers can now benefit from a larger retail space of 1,340 sqm. The new format has been created to make shopping even easier for  customers, with the store now having more space and clearer signs.

Fresh bread and cakes have been moved to the last aisle, preventing them from getting squashed under customers’ shopping, and the store will now offer new, “easy-to-browse” freezers.

The store will be run by Store Manager Benj Scott, along with a team of 36 colleagues from the community. Aldi has also created five new jobs as a result of the extension and is continuing to recruit for the Moreton store.

Moreton customers can also take a walk down the ‘Aisle of Aldi’, where they will find Specialbuys which are available every Thursday and Sunday.

During reopening week, the store will be offering a range of outdoor toys and games, including a folding slide for £27.99, wooden garden games for £12.99 per set, and a badminton set with net for £24.99.

Store Manager Benj Scott said: “The team and I are really looking forward to welcoming back some familiar faces as well as new customers, and supplying our local community with the everyday amazing products we have available.

“Hopefully the new-look store will make shopping at Aldi Moreton that bit easier and more comfortable.”

Following its reopening, the store, located at 17-21 Hoylake Road, Moreton, CH46 9PD, will be open Monday – Saturday: 8am – 10pm and Sunday: 10am– 4pm.
