A baby in Ellesmere Port has sadly died after being found unresponsive next to a bed by her mother.

An inquest was opened into the tragic death of eight-month-old baby Harper-Rose Hayden at Cheshire Coroners Court on Wednesday, July 10.

It was heard that the child was found ‘unresponsive’ by her mother on the floor next to a bed at her family home on Talbot Road, Great Sutton, on January 22.

She was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Area coroner of Cheshire, Jacqueline Devonish formally opened the inquest and adjourned it to take place on February 3, 2025, with a case review to be prepared on September 8.
