POLICE have confirmed that emergency services have been called to Birkenhead following a serious crash.
The incident happened at about 5.25pm, with officers called to Salisbury Street to reports of a collision involving multiple vehicles.
One woman has been taken to hospital for assessment, a police spokesperson confirmed.
A road closure is in place at Charing Cross and on Borough Road heading towards the tunnel.
Police added: "We would ask people to avoid the area while we deal with the incident. Thank you for your patience."
