VETFEST is set to take place in Neston this month.

The University of Liverpool’s Leahurst veterinary campus is opening its doors to all on Saturday, July 20 2024 for an action-packed day of family fun.

The University of Liverpool, School of Veterinary Science Leahurst Campus is welcoming visitors to explore the world of veterinary medicine by getting a glimpse behind the scenes at Leahurst, meet some animals, and discover the work that goes on.

Festival goers will be able to experience presentations, demonstrations and interactive activities including animal displays, Merseyside Police horses, bouncy castle, food and drink vendors, talks from veterinary researches and clinicians, a teddy bear clinic and tours of Leahurt’s equine and small animal hospital facilities.

Dean of the School of Veterinary Science at the University of Liverpool said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming visitors of all ages to what promises to be a very special open day in the run up to the School of Veterinary Science’s 120th anniversary later this year.

“It will be a privilege to give our community a glimpse behind the scenes at Leahurst and the chance to meet some of our animals, and discover the exciting work we do every day.

“There will be something for everyone, whether you’re a future veterinarian, a pet lover, or just curious!”

VetFest runs from 10am until 4pm on Saturday July 20 at the Leahurst campus near Neston, Wirral. The full programme and activity timings will be available on the VetFest website ahead of the event.
