A SUMMER festival promising 'top family entertainment, live shows, attractions and more' returns to New Brighton later this month.

Taking place on The Dips from Thursday, July 25 to Sunday, July 28 it follows an 'incredible' inaugural event last year.

It promises family entertainment, live shows, attractions, a fun fair, games, a huge independent market, a food village, a pet village and more.

A spokesperson for organisers, This Side Of The Water, said: "With a wide range of top entertainment on offer over the long weekend, as well as over 150 local independents showcasing their food, arts and crafts, it’s set to be an unforgettable few days."

Live acts include a Taylor Swift tribute, Mr Tumble Liverpool, The Disney Princess Show, Blippi, Little Star Tykes, a superhero show, a Spiderman stunt show, a character meet and greet, local music artists, dance and drama school shows and more.

There is also fun fair described as 'twice the size of last year's', a game zone, sensory zone and pet zone and for the adults 'great live music from some top local artists'.

There’ll be donkey rides, paintballing, axe throwing, football, balloons, face painting, beauty trucks, hair braiding, body piercing, jewellery and tarot. There’ll be a massive independent market village with an abundance of handcrafted artisan wares on offer, as well as mouth-watering street food to tantalise the taste buds.

Co-organiser, Jess Waring, from This Side Of The Water, said: "Last year was an overwhelming success and we’re so excited to be kicking on from that and putting on an even bigger four -day event this year.

"The weather has been incredible so far this year and we’re looking forward to welcoming tens of thousands of people for an unforgettable weekend of fun in the sun by the sea."

Co-organiser, Kate Corcoran, added: "Our ethos is one of promoting local independents and one of inclusivity.

"It's a free event for all and we have a neurodiversity policy, including wristbands and queue jumps for children who struggle to queue and quiet zones.

"People can just come for a free day or choose to spend as much as they want — it’s all about fun for everyone to enjoy and creating memories that will last a lifetime."

Jess added: “New Brighton was once a booming destination and fell into decline but it’s very much a top destination again.

"We're proud that our festival is adding to that and we hope that it will remind people that New Brighton is very much the place to be for top entertainment, food, drink, togetherness and community.

"We can’t wait to see you all there!"
