STAFF from housebuilding firm Redrow took on a mountaineering challenge that raised more than £13,000 for Claire House.

Ian Robertson, Max Smith, Will Staton, Jack Williamson, Kieran Bate and Mike Kimberley - from the company’s North West division - took part in the National Three Peaks Challenge tackling the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales – Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) – within 24 hours.

The team was supported and driven between the peaks by Redrow NW’s sales director Anna Evans-Kerr and strategic land director Paul Murray.

Claire House is the company's chosen charity.

Anna said: "The team did brilliantly and completed the whole challenge in under 24 hours, with the final group reaching the finish line in 23 hours and 26 minutes.

"A three-hour detour due to a road closure in Scotland meant the team descended Ben Nevis in the dark, which was no mean feat.

"But they overcame every challenge with sheer determination.

"They have already smashed their sponsorship target by raising over £13,000. Our heartfelt thanks on the team’s behalf go to everyone who has sponsored and supported this wonderful charity."

Claire House Children’s Hospice helps seriously and terminally ill children and has two sites, one on the Wirral and the other in Liverpool. The specialist team provides day-care, complementary therapies, clinics, counselling and play and music sessions.
