FORMER Masterchef contestant Dylan Owens and his superstar ‘Commis Chef’ Aiden Byrne are bringing a taste of Wales to a Wirral venue next week.

The event at Lost in Claremont Courtyard, Clatterbridge on Friday July 5 is described by the promoter as an 'exciting homage to produce and flavours of Dylan’s homeland'.

Dylan is equally as passionate about pushing the boundaries of culinary artistry as he is about the bountiful and unique produce of Wales.

Training under the watchful eye of Simon Radley at the Chester Grosvenor, he was then picked up by the world famous Lanesborough Hotel in London, before moving back North to work alongside the youngest person ever to have been awarded a coveted Michelin Star, Aiden Byrne, as Head Chef of The Church Green in Lymm.

This time, as mentor becomes ‘assistant’ for the night, it’s Aiden’s turn to support Dylan as his steps into the role of Commis Chef for the evening.

Speaking about the event, Dylan said: "Aiden has already delivered a couple of amazing evenings at LOST, and he’s been raving about the space ever since. I’ve wanted to do a special Welsh menu for some time, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to showcase some of the incredible ingredients and produce from just up the road in North Wales.

"Obviously having Aiden by my side is the cherry on top. He’s been my inspiration for many years, and I am absolutely honoured that he has agreed to join me.

Dylan has created a truly awe-inspiring menu which celebrates the unique landscapes and passionate producers of his homeland.

From local Welsh goats cheese smothered in Snowdonia honey, to Anglesey line caught mackerel and of course, no Welsh feast would be complete without a standout lamb dish, and his Welsh lamb rump with local sheep yoghurt, onion, lamb fat, confit potato and leek heart with mint, sounds like the star of the show.

The event is described by the organisers as an 'unforgettable journey through the rugged, honest, and effortless flavours of Wales – with perfectly reimagined classics and clever takes on some of the principality’s most revered dishes' and promises to be a magical evening from start to finish'.

Dylan’s friend and mentor Aiden Byrne described the menu as a triumph.

He added: "Dylan is so passionate about Welsh produce this night is a bit of a dream come true for him.

"Guests can expect an unforgettable journey through the rugged, honest and effortless flavours of Wales. I'm super-pleased to be his number two for the evening.

"He’s had my back for many years, so it’s a real honour to be his wing-man for the night."
