A NEW rock and metal club is opening this month "out of the ashes" from a former Liverpool city centre nightclub.
The Krazyhouse based on Wood Street in Liverpool city centre opened in the 1990s and was popular for playing indie, rock and alternative music before it closed in 2018.
The original Krazyhouse left behind a musical legacy which lives long in the memory of music fans, having played host to some of the nation’s leading bands including Korn, Placebo, Oasis, Radiohead and Stone Temple Pilots. It also developed a reputation which attracted partygoers from far and wide too, with its easygoing attitude and ‘anything goes’ vibe.
This new incarnation at K1 Metal Club has involved a conversion of the former Camel Club, also on Wood Street, just a few hundred yards up from the original home of the Krazy House.
A spokesperson for K1 Metal Club said: “We’re amazed with the feedback online so far, the support has been quite overwhelming with positive comments of how excited people are.
“We’ve had all ages messaging us telling us that they can’t wait to visit as soon as we are open. It feels amazing to give Liverpool a metal venue again.
“To start off with, we are only planning on opening on Saturdays, but we’re hoping it won’t be too long until we can open more often.
“We are already looking at other nights and working out ideas. The refurb has gone to plan and we are happy with the look of the new K1 site.
“We have the option to expand into more rooms also which we will look at in a few months time.”
K1 will be open Every Saturday from Saturday, June 29.
