A WIRRAL bridal make-up artist says she is 'so proud' after being recognised with a top 50 honour in this year's national Hair and Beauty Awards.

Leah Hughes learned she been ranked 31st on the table during the award ceremony at the International convention centre in Birmingham on June 1.

Leah, who formerly owned Painted By Leah The Studio in West Kirby, has been a freelance makeup artist for nearly ten years working across the North West and specialising in bridal makeup.

She closed her studio in December 2023 to have a second baby and is now back at work.

Leah told the Globe: "I am incredibly passionate about my job and I work hard to provide a premium service for all my brides and clients, so to be recognised for my work is amazing.

"I am so proud of what I have achieved, especially while having two young children, as I do it all for them.

"To be a part of so many brides' special mornings is such a privilege, I can't wait to for what else is to come for my business".

All those attending the Hair and Beauty Awards ceremony at the International convention centre in Birmingham on June 1 were given the red carpet treatment in the Red Carpet Event hosted by former footballer-turned-reality TV star Jake Quickenden.

There were also performances from Britain's Got Talent winner Lance Corporal Richard Jones and JLS star Aston Merrygold.
