STAFF and residents at a Wirral care home were treated to parrots showing off their skills in performing tricks during an afternoon of pirate-themed fun.
Caldy Manor residents were described as 'thrilled' to see staff all dressed up ready for the show and even joined in by putting on pirate hats and eye masks to get into the spirit.
The parrots performed a number of tricks such as putting a ball in a basketball hoop, putting coins in a money bank and showing residents and staff their beautiful wings when they flew around the home.
Residents and staff all had an opportunity to feed and hold the parrots which made the afternoon even more special.
A resident at Caldy Manor said: "Wow, what a wonderful afternoon we have had.
"We all love seeing the staff dress up it brings smiles to all of our faces, they put in so much effort for us and it’s such a joy to be here".
General manager, Hannah Roberts said: "All of our residents has had such a wonderful afternoon handling the parrots and being able to ask questions about what’s it like to look after these wonderful birds.”
