MEET our dog of the week Rolo, who is looking for a new family and needs your help.

The five-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross arrived at Dogs Trust Merseyside last month having been found as a stray.

Despite what he has been through, staff at the rehoming centre say he has proved himself to be 'a playful, loving boy who adores a snuggle'.

Although he was described as 'shy at first', thanks to the care he is getting at the centre, he is said to be 'growing in confidence every day' and is now happiest spending time in the offices with the team to increase his chances of being made a fuss of by them and anyone that calls in.

Georgina Lowery, manager at Dogs Trust Merseyside, said: "Rolo is a gorgeous boy who would fit into family life really well, particularly if there are enough people to give him a cuddle as he loves nothing more.

"He is naturally friendly and curious but likes to do things at his own pace which may be because of what he has been through recently.

"He has spent a few days at home with a member of the team and was the perfect houseguest, so we are confident he’ll soon settle into his new home and thrive with the love of a new family."

Rolo is said to love his toys and enjoys chasing them or playing a game of tuggy. He would like to be the only dog in his home so he doesn’t have to share snuggle time, but he would benefit from some calm walking friends.

He would love a house with a garden as he currently doesn’t go to the toilet on his walks, which may be as a result of a bad experience he had as a stray. He is housetrained.
