A MAN was left with blood “pouring down his face” after he was attacked by five dogs on a Wirral beach.
At around 11.30 on Friday, May 31, John Hudson, 71, from Meols was walking his son’s dog, Pud, along Leasowe Bay when the pair were subjected to a vicious attack by five other dogs.
He is now warning other dog walkers to stay vigilant following the ordeal.
He told the Globe: “The woman who owned them had no control over them at all. They were not on leads and they were like a pack of wolves biting at her.
“She was trying to get back to me but they were biting at her and cutting her off.”
While trying to save Pud, two of the dogs jumped at John, knocking him forward onto the rocks causing him to strike his head and damage two of his fingers.
He said: “After a short time I was able to scoop down and take hold of her harness and pull her to me but that’s when I got knocked over.
“My eye brow was cut open and blood was flowing freely.
“I shouted at the woman to control her dogs but she just walked off shouting and swearing at me.
“I believe that these dog's would have torn my son's dog to pieces had they caught her.
“This is a popular local beach for families children and other dog walkers. This could have been a child.”
John attended hospital for treatment and reported the incident to the police.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “We are appealing for information following a dog attack in Leasowe last week.
“At around 11.30am on Friday 31 May, a report was received of a woman walking five dogs on Leasowe Beach, two of which reportedly knocked over a man walking his own dog.
