RESIDENTS were left “terrified” after masked men broke into their home and demanded money.

Sometime between 9.25pm and 9.35pm on Thursday, April 25 two unknown men forced entry into an address on Atherton Road, Ellesmere Port.

Once inside, the men, who were wearing a balaclava and a crash helmet, threatened the occupants and demanded they hand over money.

The men quickly searched the address for cash before fleeing.

Fortunately, nothing was taken during the incident.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and officers are urging members of the public with information that could aid the investigation to get in touch.

Detective Constable Max Jones said: “This was an absolutely terrifying ordeal for the victims who have been left extremely shaken up since the incident occurred, and we want to reassure local residents that we are committed to doing all we can to trace the people responsible.

“Enquiries are ongoing and as part of our investigation, we want to hear from anyone who was in the Atherton Road area around the time of the incident and believes they may have witnessed anything suspicious.

“The same goes for anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage which may aid our investigation."
