A picturesque Wirral village is bringing all the fun of the seaside to its shores this weekend.
Eastham may lie on the banks of the River Mersey, but is certainly not known for its beaches.
But locals will be holding a huge seaside picnic on Saturday (June 1) and everyone is invited.
The Eastham Carnival, in Torr Park, is set to be a lively celebration of community, culture and creativity.
The park will be filled with uplifting music, plus 'plenty of delicious food and exciting activities for all ages'.
Among the entertainment will be fairground rides and the Giant Octopus Puppet Show, to paintball and the fantastic Bubble Man. It promises 'something for everyone'.
The more sporting visitors can take part in football and tennis, while mermaids and baby sharks will be on hand to accompany the seaside theme.
Organised by Eastham Community and Churches Together, this is the latest annual event designed to bring everyone together.
Organiser Rev Beth Glover said: "We are expecting thousands of people down at the park for our latest event. People come with their own picnics, chairs, tables and even gazebos.
"We've got tents for performances scheduled throughout the day, it’s free and everyone will get a programme when they arrive."
The festivities begin on Saturday at 10am and continue until 4.30pm.
