POLICE are urging drivers to “slow down” after a car was flipped onto its roof in Meols.
On Wednesday, May 22, at around 5.35pm a crash between drivers of a Nissan and a VW Tiguan took place on Heron Road, Meols.
The collision caused one of the cars to flip onto its roof on the grass verge next to the road.
Damage was caused to both vehicles but there were no reports of any injuries.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “This is the second road traffic collision on Heron Road today due to people not driving to weather conditions.
“Please slow down and drive accordingly.
“Luckily no one was hurt on this occasion.”
The incident comes after the borough was issued with a rare amber weather warning for heavy and persistent rain between Wednesday (May 22) and Thursday (May 23).
Experts warned that spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures while fast flowing or deep floodwater was likely, “causing danger to life”.
