Former pupil celebrates 100th birthday at Wirral primary school
A former pupil celebrated their 100th birthday at a Wirral primary school.
Bill Sheppard, a former pupil from Co-op Academy Woodslee, celebrated his 100th birthday at the school on Thursday, April 18.
Invited into the school to celebrate the special day, Bill, and his friend Don, enjoyed a school dinner and spent time with current pupils.

Wirral author's first novel to be adapted for the big screen
A Wirral author feels like he’s "won the lottery" after a film company agreed to adapt his novel on the subject into a transatlantic thriller.
Shooting for Peter Farrell’s novel If I Was to Tell You Something starts in the summer, following rave reviews of the tale of the trials and tribulations of a working-class Anglo-American couple in Liverpool who win £17m on the lottery.

New road to be named in 'wonderful tribute' to Wirral councillor
A new road in Moreton is to be named in memory of the town's longest-serving councillor following a request by his successors.
The move to name the road Blakeley Way after Chris Blakeley, follows the council’s decision to use the site of the former Foxfield School on Douglas Drive for new homes, following the school’s relocation to Woodchurch in 2015.

A Wirral nurse has paid tribute to a “courageous” teenage girl who inspired her career.
Erin McCulloch, a hospice lead nurse from Birkenhead, had reservations about working at a children’s hospice but joining the nursing team at Claire House more than two years ago completely changed her mindset
The 28-year-old, a lead nurse Claire House, worried she would lose her clinical skills when she moved from a general children’s ward but after meeting family friend Evie she said she’s “never looked back”.

Birkenhead fashion designer launches ‘design your own outfit’ website feature
A FASHION designer is giving customers the chance to fully customise their “dream outfits” after launching a new feature on her website.
Megan Ruiter from Birkenhead set up her brand Ruiter in 2021 after completing her fashion degree at university.
The 25-year-old currently has more than 16,000 followers on Instagram and has seen her designs on social media influencers and Love Island stars.
