A WIRRAL pub has announced when it will be reopening.
The Wellington in Bebington will be reopening next week after it closed in April for a refurbishment.
New landlords Michael Yates, 48 and Michelle Yates, 45, got the keys to the pub on April 20 after they applied for a franchise opportunity from Greene King.
The outside of the pub is being repainted and signage is being renewed while the rear is having the beer garden extended and new outdoor furniture.
Inside will see a return of a pool table where pool nights and competitions can be expected.
Bingo, quiz nights, and darts teams will also be available as well as live music every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
A variety of drinks will be available to customers as well as pizzas.
The pub also plans to welcome local businesses for networking coffee mornings as well as hosting collectors meetings to buy and sell from one another.
There was an inn on this site possibly dating back to the 16th century. The Ship is shown on this site in Bryant's map of 1831 and the Ship Inn is listed in Bagshaw's Directory of 1850.
Michael and Michelle told the Globe: “We open on Thursday, May 23 for friends and family and local businesses. Then open to the public on Friday, May 24.
“We are excited for the new challenge and hope that we can become part of the Bebington community and want our local customers to use us as a hub where they can socialise with each other.”
The Wellington in Bebington will re-open on Friday, May 24.
