A WIRRAL hospital is celebrating its nurses today.

Wirral University Teaching Hospital (WUTH) will join the global community in celebrating International Nurses’ Day (Sunday, May 12).

The annual event honours the tireless efforts and unwavering commitment of nurses worldwide.

To acknowledge our nurses’ creativity and teamwork, the Trust’s new Deputy Chief Nurse, Julie Roy, and the senior nursing team will be visiting wards and departments at both Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge Hospitals to meet and thank everyone.

Julie said: “I am delighted to join the nursing teams at WUTH and have been made to feel so welcome.

“I am impressed by the compassion and commitment to nursing that I have  already seen.”

International Nurses’ Day is celebrated annually on May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.
