THE directors of a Northwest-based care company have appointed a Wirral woman as its group head of human resources.

Jo McIntyre will be responsible for developing and shaping the human resources and people strategy within the Alcedo Care Group, working closely with its management team to 'provide invaluable coaching and guidance on all things related to the home care provider’s incredible people'.

Described as having 'a passion for nurturing talent and encouraging growth', Jo has more than two decades of hands-on experience and brings a wealth of knowledge from diverse sectors including independent fostering agencies, elderly home care, aerospace and retail.

She said: “My 28-year career journey in HR has given me a unique perspective and a keen eye for talent.

"Committed to continuous learning and development, I love working with people, bringing out the best in every individual and helping them achieve their personal goals while contributing to the company’s overall success.”

One of Jo’s first tasks will be to launch Alcedo’s Rising Stars programme, a dedicated company-wide career pathway that provides employees with clear personal development goals and includes specialised training, funding, qualifications, coaching and mentoring to enable employees to succeed in their career aspirations.

Commenting on Jo’s appointment, managing director of Alcedo Care Group, Andy Boardman, said: "I’m pleased to welcome Jo to the team and look forward to working closely with her as our team continues to expand.”

Professionally qualified, Jo holds a CIPD Level 5 Diploma in Human Resource Management.

She lives with her husband and two teenage sons in Wallasey, and enjoys daily seaside strolls along the nearby promade with the family’s seven year old Staffie called Bailey.

When not working, she enjoys going on holiday with family and friends, especially her annual ski trips to France, and keeping healthy with regular gym visits.

Rated one of the Top 20 Large Home Care Groups for four years running, Alcedo Care Group is on track to meet its target of owning and operating 30 branches across the North of England and Wales by the end of 2025.

The company has a branch on Shore Road in Birkenhead.

Alongside its geographical expansion plans, the family-owned Group is also on a mission to continually expand its portfolio of home care services with a particular emphasis on complex care, live-in care, children’s services and young person’s crisis management residential homes.
