A MERSEYSIDE housebuilder has donated £1,500 to a children’s hospice in Wirral.
Barratt and David Wilson Homes have donated £1,500 to Claire House Children’s Hospice as part of its Community Fund scheme towards the charity’s services in Merseyside and the surrounding areas.
The donation was made as part of The Barratt Foundation, which is designed to support national and local charities, large and small, across the UK to leave a legacy in the communities in which the housebuilder operates.
Harry Boshell, a Fundraiser at Claire House said: “The support we have received from Barratt and David Wilson Homes over the last year has been incredible.
“The whole team have been involved in putting on events for Claire House, taking part in fundraising challenges and giving up their time to support us with volunteering activities.
“We are so grateful for this amazing donation. It will make a massive difference to families who are going through the hardest of times and it will help us reach out to more families in the future.”
Claire House looks after seriously and terminally ill children and gives them the opportunity to live life to the fullest by creating wonderful experiences and bringing a sense of normality back to family life.
The support from the developer, based on Lydiate Lane, will help the charity provide specialist nursing, end-of-life care, and emotional support to more than 400 families.
Claire Jarvis, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes North West, said: “We are committed to creating a positive impact and, as the UK’s largest housebuilder, it’s really important that we support local organisations in the areas in which we build new homes.
“The work Claire House Children’s Hospice provides is vital and we wish the charity all the best in supporting those in the community. We hope it can continue to enrich the lives of those it supports and cares for.”
