A WIRRAL cinema will host an exclusive preview screening and live Q+A for a new movie featuring Rebel Wilson which is set in various locations across the borough.
The Almond and The Sea Horse, which stars Australian Hollywood actress Rebel Wilson as archaeologist Sarah, shows her dealing with the complications of her husband Joe's (Celyn Jones) traumatic brain injury, while architect Toni (Charlotte Gainsbourg) and her partner Gwen (Trine Dyrholm) "have been imprisoned in a 15-year loop" due to a similar injury.
Love is the only thing that keeps them all going but something has changed, and both Sarah and Toni are determined to not let it all unravel as they face their fears of being forgotten by the people they love most.
In the film, New Brighton, Hoylake beach, West Kirby, Leasowe and Oxton all feature along with Crosby beach and Bootle across the water in Liverpool.
A house on Meols Drive in West Kirby and Ashton House Resource Centre in Birkenhead can also be seen in the film.
On Thursday, May 9 The Light Cinema in New Brighton will host a live and in-person Q&A with actor and director Celyn Jones, who lives in Wirral, after an exclusive preview screening.
The screening takes place at 7.30pm and will last just over two hours.
