WIRRAL can expect a “cloudy and wet” May bank holiday weekend according to weather reports.
Experts have said the peninsula can expect cloudy weather with outbreaks of rain across the weekend.
Today:
A mostly cloudy day. Turning increasingly wet with scattered showers in the morning, giving way to some more persistent rain in the afternoon. Some of the rain could be heavy with rumbles of thunder possible. Feeling cooler under cloudier skies. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
Tonight:
Staying cloudy and damp during the evening and overnight, though outbreaks of rain tending to become fairly light by dawn. Staying mild and frost free under cloudy skies. Minimum temperature 9 °C.
Saturday:
Another cloudy and damp day, with a chance of some brightness towards late-afternoon, mainly in Cheshire and southern parts of Lancashire. Generally cool, though feeling warmer in any late sunshine. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
Generally remaining changeable and unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain at times, mixed in with some sunshine, particularly by Tuesday. Staying warm, with generally light winds.
Deputy Chief Meteorologist Mark Sidaway said: “There continues to be uncertainty around the track of a low-pressure system which is expected to cross the southern UK this weekend, meaning there is some uncertainty about some of the forecast details.
“While it will remain unsettled with further showers or longer spells of rain, all areas should see some drier conditions at some point and, in any sunshine, it should feel quite warm.
“But for the exact details for your area stay up to date with forecast over the coming days.”
