A PERSON has died at Liverpool Lime Street station.
Emergency services were called to an incident at the railway station in Liverpool city centre at around 12.30pm today (Sunday, April 28).
Merseyside Police and paramedics are at the scene.
Northern, Avanti West Coast, Transpennine Express have been cancelled or delayed.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "British Transport Police were called to Liverpool Lime Street at 12.30pm today (April 28) to reports of a concern for safety.
"Officers and paramedics attended, sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is being investigated."
Northern posted on social media platform, X, that the Liverpool Lime Street line had reopened but services running to and from the station would be cancelled or delayed.
Services on the following routes will be affected in both directions: Liverpool Lime Street - Manchester Oxford (via Warrington Central) Liverpool Lime Street - Wilmslow (via Earlestown) Liverpool Lime Street - Wigan North Western / Blackpool North
Northern ticket holders have acceptance on: TransPennine Express services between Liverpool and Manchester stations. Any ticket restrictions have been lifted during this disruption.
