FLOOD alerts have been issued by the Environment Agency across Wirral due to high tide forecasts today (Tuesday, April 9).
There are warnings in place for parts of New Brighton covering Marine Point, King's Parade, and Marine Promenade areas.
There are also lower-grade alerts in place in West Kirby, Rock Park and Meols Parade.
A spokesperson for the Environment Agency said: “This Flood Warning has been issued due to the high tide forecast this morning, 09/04/2024.
“Flooding of property is expected from 11:30 AM on 09/04/2024. Areas most at risk include Marine Point Leisure and Retail Park.
“We do not currently anticipate the Flood Warning level to be met during the high tide in the early hours of 10/04/2024.
“We are expecting higher than normal tides over the next 2 days and as a result we may issue further alerts or warnings.
“Our incident rooms are on standby and we are closely monitoring the situation.
“We are liaising with emergency services and local authorities.
“Please be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous.
“This message will be updated by 4:00 PM on 09/04/2024, or as the situation changes.
“Flood warning area: Areas at risk include Marine Point Leisure and Retail Park and properties on King's Parade and Marine Promenade.”
